About
Rohan Chopra · Bay Area
I'm Rohan Chopra. I'm from the Bay Area and I study cognitive science at UC San Diego, specializing in UX/UI design and interaction, with a minor in Entrepreneurship & Technology. Provost Honors, 3.92 GPA. I graduate in March 2027.
My work sits between research, data, and design. At Egnyte I ran an end-to-end research study on AI adoption that became a prioritized product roadmap. At Mercor I evaluate AI-generated design work and write the structured critiques that teach systems what good design is. In a data science course, my team tested whether the weather changes what Spain streams on Spotify. It barely does. My documentary Journey to Mars won Best STEM Film at the NASA CineSpace International Film Competition in 2022 and screened on the NASA Space Station Channel, and my music has passed 100,000 streams. I also design branding for the Cognitive Science Student Association at UCSD, and I built the web presence for a boutique financial advisory firm.
The through-line
People sometimes ask which one is the real job. All of them, in the sense that each taught me something the others needed. Research taught me to find out what someone actually experiences before I assume it. Film taught me sequence: what a viewer needs next, and what to cut. Music taught me hierarchy, restraint, and how to tell when something is finished. Design is where those three land on a screen. In practice I use all of it most weeks.

What I'm looking for
I'm looking for full-time work starting summer 2027 where research, data, and AI meet. That could be UX or applied research, data science and analytics, AI evaluation and product work, or consulting on any of those. I've run a 23-person research study, evaluated more than 500 AI-generated designs, and analyzed four years of Spotify charts, so I'm most useful on teams that want one person who can find the question, work out what the data says, and be honest about what it doesn't show. I also make films and music, which is why I care about how results are presented as well as what they say. If that sounds like your team, email me.
